Chipper Sunday

Last Sunday, we decided to tackle the chipper WOD (Nov 23, 2008). Most things were as rx'd, although substitutions were made on some equipment and the rope climb was taken down to one and put in a different order for each person so that everyone could keep moving. Times were also remarkably close together, from 20:16 to 23:43 for everyone there. A few of us lingered around to play, and after most people had left Chadron went ahead and deadlifted an astonishing 185kg (408lb!). There won't be an official meet this weekend due to the holidays, but if anyone will be around and would like to arrange a post-Turkey day workout, definitely mention it in the posts. I know at least Ben, Dave, and I will be around. Anyone else?

You fight your way up

and claw your way to the top

in the hopes that you can swing it

Eventually you find the light at the end

and just hope to make it out alive

Hey, I'm back in town for the (extended) holidays. Any group workouts coming up? I could use an ass kicking.

Anybody want to do Fran today (Dec 3), I was thinking early to mid afternoon, either Rocky Top or memgym.

I'll be at Mem around 3:15pm to tackle Fran once again...probably won't have much sleep in me, but I'll be doing it as rx'd for the first time in a very long while...should be fun

Feeling pretty accomplished today...did Fran as rx'd in 8:29. The last time I'd attempted rx'd Fran, it took me an agonizing 25:25...and today's time is only 20 seconds away from my previous PR with 85lb Thrusters, which I did about two months ago. Zone diet guesstimating with 2xFat seems to be working some magic for me.

Pulled out a sub-7 Fran yesterday with Armando, but only by a couple seconds.

Eating eggplant parmesan 2 hours before was not a pretty thing ex post. Took all of 30 minutes before I was ready to rejoin the world.

Lucky for me Armando was there to yell at me during, pull the bar off of my on my failed second-to-last thruster, and bring me h2o while puking my guts out. Thanks Armando, you're the man!

5 rounds for time of:
10 Walking Lunges, one 50# DB (Farmer's carry)
15 DB swings, 50# DB

Time - 9:08...everything was unbroken, I just didn't seem to be pushing the pace.

Today's mini-Jason Squat-MU WOD:
29:38...for the first 3 rounds did full MUs 1/3 of the time. Everything else was Jumping MUs.

Due to a hectic day of finals today, I couldn't make it out to Rocky Top yesterday. Although the email Bin sent out as a teaser really made me think about that twice hehe. Ended up getting my ass kicked by ring push-ups yesterday...first time doing them in a WOD...underestimated them.

AMRAP in 20 min of:
15 pull-ups
15 ring push-ups
15 back extensions
15 GHD sit-ups
Total: 4 rounds+15 pull-ups+7 push-ups

Today, C+J 7x1:
135(4 sets), 145(2 sets), 150(last set...new PR by 15lbs)

Thanks to Bin for his tips on improving my clean. It used to be my limiting factor for this lift, but there were demonstrable improvements evidenced today.
