Aug 5th (immediately pre-comp)

Details are same as before.

Did "heavy" snatch and c&j. All lifts felt shaky, and the combination of lack of sleep, abundance of work, and lack of training are making themselves known. This weekend will be hopeful, but not overly so.

woo training logs! the Dave Tate stuff on deadlift and box squats was awesome btw. remind me what Dimel DLs are again? I liked the super long email too.

dimel deadlifts are high speed reps that only go between full extension and the hang position (bar down to your knees). You do 20 reps at a time with somewhere around half your dl max (I think you want to go as high as you can without breaking up the set). Tate said he and the other guy added big numbers to their maxes doing this as a change of pace in their training.

dave tate is the man; reading some of the whiny comments people wrote in response to his no-bullshit, well-informed comments about steroids was hilarious.

good luck with the competitions bin! never underestimate the power of adrenaline and the cumulative effects of all that training you did for the bjj tournament. you might surprise yourself with your performance.
