Finals Time

Gentlemen, start your engines. This is the time of year when the workouts go from “normal” to “compared to finals this ain’t that bad” or alternatively “I’d honestly rather get punched in the neck than go through that again.”

I don’t know about undergrads but finals on North Grounds start tomorrow, which means it’s time to buckle down and go tough, go big, go fast, and go heavy . . . and keep on going until there is no more left.

It’s time to take it to the next level and finish the semester out right. That means that the workouts coming up should be harder than usual, both mentally and physically. That means finish everything you start. Encourage one another. Hoot and holler. Get into it. And if anyone looks at you funny, make them do burpees.

For those of you who weren't at the workout today, because of exam schedules in the following week, we're encouraging everyone to try and devise pickup group workouts. Simply post in the comments section when and where you'd like it to happen, and whoever can make it will go. These aren't meant to be terribly organized or large in number, but just as a way for people to get creative and workout together. Even if you haven't made up a workout before, give it a shot; we can always figure out the kinks at the workout itself.

Sorry to do this to you already, but I work friday and saturday nights; Any way you could change the time so I can join in the fun?

I can do May 5th at night, or we can negotiate any time on May 6th.

If these dates conflict with your exams, just voice it out. Enough people complain, I guess I'll keep looking for dates.

Hey Armando, May 5th at Night is good for me. Anyone up for one tomorrow afternoon. I'm thinking obsticle/trail run, starting at my place around 2 in the afternoon. I live over at 118 Ivy Drive if you want to mapquest or whatever. I'll confirm on here later today or tomorrow if it will be a meeting here (at my place) or at Memgym.

Allright, tomorrow (Tuesday), it's on. Be at 118 Ivy Gardens #6 around 1:45 - we take off at 2:00 on the dot.

This workout will involve some off-road running. You will get wet and dirty so don't be wearing your fancy clothes for this one.

Post on here for carpool and other info if people need it.

Aw shit...i'm pretty sure i wouldn't be done, showered and @ my class by 3, so i won't be able to make it out tomorrow. AND i got a final paper to hand in the 5th! (that's why i'm doing mine the 5th at night). How long do you think yours should take Bin?

4 mile run, half trail, half paved hills

20lb vest worn by one
20 pushups every 7 minutes, switch vest
At 100 yds till the end, 50 slamballs each with 20lb medicine ball

Bin, Chadron ~ 58 min, followed by some beer.

Slosh pipe overhead hold
Deadlift hold (BW)
Rings support hold
Punching bag bear hug hold
Dumbbell shoulder height hold (50% BW/hand).
